The 2023 DPC Winter Tour is set the first-ever Dota 2 Major held in South America between February 22 – March 5 in Lima, Peru.
South America is getting ready to showcase their rising region and talent as the first ever SA Dota 2 Major gets ready to kick off.
A total of 18 teams have secured their spot at the Lima Major during the Winter Tour League and will begin the battle for the trophy, early DPC points, and the lion’s share of the prize pool.
Lima Major has a total prize pool of $500,000 and 1,900 DPC points to offer. Only the top eight teams at the end of the tournament will take home prize money and DPC points.
The post-TI shuffle feels like a complete overhaul of the landscape and of much of the scene. Fans will get their first glimpse of how some of these teams will fair in their first International competition of the year, giving a glimpse into who can be expected to compete at The International 2023.
Lima Major format
The teams are divided into two groups. The top six teams from each group will make the cut to the playoffs, while the bottom three teams will be eliminated.
Group Stage: February 22 – February 26, 2023
- Two groups of nine teams each
- All matches are Bo2, Single round-robin
- Top four teams from each group advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs
- 5th and 6th place teams from each group advance to the lower bracket of the playoffs
- Remaining teams are eliminated
Playoffs – February 28 – March 5, 2023
- All matches except Grand Final are Bo3
- Double-elimination bracket
- Grand Final is Bo5
