Shield Chain And Tank Paladin

Shield Chain and Tank Paladin, one build for paladin is the shield chain. This guide will focus on Shield Chain build, tanking is just a secondary option. Pure tank build is only good at the early game, in the late game, tanking is just optional. You will only need to change Stats, Skills and Cards to become Tank.

Since Shield chain have a casting time, DEX will be very important. A casting time of .4 sec and below is your target.

same as always, this is the only build for TANK. let your DPS do the job.

2. Skills

Paladin

Rapid smiting = shield chain
Skill that you want here are the shield chain, battle chant, tenacity. Other skill points can be use on the crusader skill like Peco peco and cavalier.

Swordsman

Crusader

Protection can be level 4 only so you can max level 5 the tenacity on the paladin skill

Paladin

If you don’t need devotion, you can put it on Heal.

3. Gears

Weapon

Ivory Spear would be your best option because of the addtional stats and effect that it have. If you really insist on having a specific weapon for tanking, a Fireblend or Excalibur would my recommendation.

Cards

For grinding, will depend on where you are grinding, always go for the racial, element or size card for maximum dmg output.

For PVP, Hydra and Skel Worker.

For Tanking, Fabre Card would be the only option.

Enchant

Shield

Cross Shield is your only option for shield chain skill. Since tanking is optional, you don’t really need a dedicated shield for tanking. If you really insist on having a tank shield, Holy guard would be my recommendation, minimum refinement of +6.

Thara frog for pvp
Argos, Megalodon, Munak and Ancient Mummy for cheaper card, but very useful.

Enchant

Would recommend to go for Benediction.

Armor

This armor set focus on DMG, it is also not recommended to have another set for tanking.

Cards

Peco peco can be your all around card.
Awakened picky can be your additional dmg for PVE if you are still lacking, but not recommended on PVP.
Purple card like pasana, marc and more for PVP if you have budget.

Eclipse and Choco for the cheaper card.
Orc baby for expensive Defensive card
Vagabond for expensive DMG card

Matyr or Verit for the cheaper card
Cat O’ Nine Tails for the expensive option

Enchant

Shining would be the best.
Tranquility for def PVP. this is to counter Crit build DPS on PVP

Benediction would be best since their is only a little stats that can provide you a MDMG Reduction. this is good for PVP and MVP.

Stoneskin would be your last option, but since most likely you already have a lot of PDEF, this would be not the best option.

Accessory

Dmg is the main focus on the list of accessory, but if you manage to get a 2 slots defensive accessory like Necklace at level 65, Golden foot ring at level 85 and Dark knight belt at level 95, you can also use that since having another slot is your always target. But as much as you can, you want the below accessory.

For additional DPS, Mantis and Greatest General would be you best option
Furious Poporing can be use in PVP, Charge Atk will help you close your gap to your target instantly.
You can also add a horong card in PVP,
An awakened tier 3 phen would be your very expensive option. This will help you on pvp, no one can cancel your shield chain. ASPD player will most likely cancel your shield chain when you cast it.
