Throne and Liberty Release on Dec. 7
NCSOFT will release a new MMORPG, Throne and Liberty, also known as TL, in Korea on Dec. 7, and later in the global market, the game company said Thursday.
TL was developed targeting role-playing PC and console game fans around the world. The Korean video game developer said it is also targeting the North American market and is cooperating with Amazon Games.
NCSOFT said the release schedule for the console version and the global market will be announced at a later date.
“Our overseas release schedule is being discussed with our global publishing partner, Amazon Games,” an NCSOFT spokesperson said.

Ahn Jong-wook, producer of TL, said NCSOFT improved the game’s play system after receiving users’ feedback through an open beta test conducted in May.
Ahn said there was a significant improvement after receiving feedback during the open beta test. As part of its move to improve the game, NCSOFT removed the automatic play system.
He said TL does not have a typical job system that many other role-playing games adopted, allowing users to freely use two of the seven weapons in battles.
The producer emphasized that users will be able to feel the excitement of cooperative content by playing the new game.
“What is needed to explore a dungeon is a partner rather than increasing their characters’ level,” Ahn said during an online showcase event. “All dungeons cannot be completed alone as each player needs to support each other to clear the dungeons.”
The producer said large-scale wars between factions are the core enjoyable content of TL.
“The battle to capture the castle in TL is a culmination of our game development technology. A seamless battle will be available even when over 1,000 users are connected simultaneously and users can also transform into giant creatures when participating in the war,” Ahn said.
To let more users experience the new game, NCSOFT will join this year’s G-STAR game expo, which will be held in Busan from Nov. 16 to 19.
